Physical and Agro-Climatic Condition:
Busia district, Western Province, occupies 1,261.3 km2, of which 10% is covered by Lake Victoria1. For administrative purposes, it is divided into six divisions namely, Budalangi, Butula, Funyula, Matayos, Nambale, and Township.
The district falls within the Lake Victoria Basin, rising from 1,130m on the shores of the Lake to 1,375m above sea level in the central area. Butula and Nambale divisions occupy a plain characterized by low flat divides often capped by laterites and shallow incised swampy systems. Full report

Physical and Agro-Climatic Conditions:
Vihiga district, Western Province, occupying an area of 563 km2, is among the smallest districts in Kenya1. It is sub-divided into six administrative divisions: Luanda, Emuhaya, Sabatia, Tiriki East, Tiriki West and Vihiga.
The district is located on the eastern fringes of the Rift Valley in the Lake Victoria Basin and lies between 1,300m and 1,500m above sea level, generally sloping from west to east. The terrain is undulating with occasional hills and valleys with streams flowing from northeast to the southeast, draining into Lake Victoria. Full report
